What is Paycheck Guardian

Paycheck Guardian is a novel product, as it provides a pretty compelete financial protection package for US employees. In addition to legal services, debt relief help, and credit counseling, the plan provides unemployment benefits, along with accidental death and disability benefits.

Competition: Paycheck Guardian seems ahead of the few competitors. BPAL requires a 9 month waiting period, compared to PG’s 4 month waiting period. CSI has a maximum benefit of only $500 for 3 months, while PG offers a $1500 monthly benefit for 4 months. And yet, Paycheck Guardian’s cost is very affordable compared to these other plans.

Paycheck Guardian Benefits Review

A member must be a W-2 employee to qualify for the private unemployment benefits, and he or she must satisfy a 4 month actively at work clause with their job. In general, employees who qualify for state unemployment benefits can qualify for this program.

The best way to understand the benefits is the visit the FAQ section of Paycheck Guardian, and it will guide you through the most common questions about plan details.

  2. I have seen a lot of interest in this Paycheck Guardian all over the country, but especially in particularly hard hit areas like California, Nevada, Florida, some eastern states, and midwestern states like Michigan.

State unemployment benefits just won’t keep most families out of hot water, so a program that provides extra help is exciting.

  4. Hi FrugalPig, thanks for your input. A reader also told us that GE has a similar plan, but wanted the consumer to purchase 4 different policies in order to purchase the layoff protection.

  6. Has anyone heard of Walkaway USA insurance? If a Hyundai buyer loses his or her job within 12 months after taking delivery, the buyer can return the vehicle to the dealership without damaging the buyer’s credit rating. Buyers must prove they’ve been laid off and must be current in their payments. If the car is in good shape, the buyer can leave the keys with the dealer and Walkaway pays off the loans. Cost to the consumer: nothing. Hyundai is paying for the first year of the insurance policy for consumers.

I would really like to know if this is offered by any other U.S. insurance agencies besides Walkaway. It’s popular in the UK and Canada but not here.
